Yeah, this thread is doomed.

To summarize; the updated HD setup (model year 20?) and procedure works, and works easier than the previous iterations, just like 702 posted above in this thread.

I still like that Vulcan setup, and after I posted earlier, I went and looked a bit more, I still think I might snag it. I will have the exhaust off for this next upgrade, and would feel better with positive adjusters, even if not necessary.

my apologies to others reading this thread. was the Pro Action posts closed in all the threads that were started ?
it would seem some have hidden anger issues. life is too short to have issues with everyone who you don't agree with.
again my apologies to those not involved.

I put around 25,000 miles a year on my 2 bikes, (combined), so I'm changing out tires often. This thing is super helpful. Shop around to find a cheaper price though.............

I bought one of those as well. Haven't used it yet..LOL but when I do I think it will make the process of tightening the axle and setting belt tension easier.

I'm not really in the market for anything different, just thought it was interesting and some others may too. I did try to look at the Vulcan site a few times but it would never load for me.

The update that 702 mentioned was news to me. I may consider that somewhere along the line.

Some of you guys' ability to ignore facts is absolutely stunning. Kinda funny actually. Self-righteous? Condescending? Mirror anyone? No, just no longer tolerant in life of peoples' complete crap. Funny how suddenly there seemed to be a rush to the Pro Action thread? Why? Only to satisfy low-character gossip dirt loving minds. You couldn't stand on your own away from the crowd if your feet were bolted to a pedestal and a steel rod holding you up. I say some of the same things repeatedly because some of you keep proving it's true. So I keep saying it. When you never acknowledge the easily seen obvious it's either because you cannot comprehend simple language or else it's an intentional ignorance. It has to be one of the two. I would come up with more but if you can't understand the simple, how will you the more? So sad.

We would not be at this point had a couple of jerks early on in my Pro Action thread not first came at me without a cause in a judgmental, twisted pshyco, rant calling me BS, that I was smearing someone and protecting another. WHAT? Yes, they can eff off just as I said. And yes I poked one of them back a couple of times in this thread and I do not apologize for it. It was well deserved. But it's funny that you all never mention that; only I'm the bad guy because I shot back. And then that started the ball rolling of others completely ignoring what was said to me and only focusing on what I said back and very much disrespecting me all along the way. So yes, again, I will shoot back at them also because that is complete disrespect BS to me too. And another thing you all choose to ignore is the fact that I have never once disrespected someone who has not first fired at me. So when you keep insisting that I'm the bad guy with the "anger issues" or whatever and never talk about the others or even yourselves, you are liars. Period. And some of you fancy yourselves as "a bear"? Oh that's hilarious. The thread might get closed? Oh no...please not that...oh no...what will I do?

Name even one time that I have just *****-nilly attacked or disrespected anyone who had any info to share and/or showed some common courtesy and respect themselves. You can't - it doesn't exist. Do you read any of the other comments I make where someone has shared something who had not been a jerk? Some of you obviously scurried to the Pro Action thread to find only what you wanted to see. If you did look at them, didn't you notice a difference in the way I talked to them? If you haven't looked at them, why? Why would you cherry pick? And I have no idea who any of you are so I will treat everyone the same according to how their actions If you're gonna fire at me, I'm gonna shoot back. Maybe that's an area I should work on, but in the meantime don't be a liar. If you don't like it, screw you. That is all.

I bought one recently also but like you, haven;t reached the point of usage yet. When I do I will try to remember to share if it was a good thing or not. Hopefully by end of January at the very latest. Depends on how much it snows this year and how much I'll be working. But I still find other options interesting and something to keep in the back of my head down the road.

Good luck!

Weird, the Vulcan page loads for me https://secure.vulcanworks.net/store...r-harleys.html

But yes, the new style HD axle, and that procedure is solid. No reason not to try it!

Looks cool at least lol.

I have so much money going out on a bunch of other things right now so I will probably will not get anything like that right now. I have thought about the HD upgrade ever since 702 mentioned it (it's in the $90 range) especially considering the 3rd hand is not much less, but I went with the 3rd hand feeling like it might be a safer bet right now. I just haven't heard much yet on the new axle like I have the 3rd hand. Another "down the road" possibility.

I tried to click on your link here and I also tried in a new window several times now and I can't get to it. There's probably a simple reason but I don't much get into computer stuff. But...just now thought...could be pop-up blocker setting or something like that. I'll see.

Thanks for sharing.

All good, must just be a privacy setting on your machine.

I have never used the 3rd hand, always just went with the dab of anti-seize on the side of the flange, and cussed correctly when torquing

Good luck!

Yeah it's been a long time but I have done the same thing myself. It's just that now I'm looking to make things a bit easier on myself when I can. Arthritis and carpel tunnel in hands as well as a host of other physical "challenges" make me look more for such things these days. I hope the 3rd hand is helpful in that way but only one way to find out. Thanks again.
