It helps to pay high attention to detail when taking things apart ... and take pictures. Really helps with reassembly. Even with that it can be a pain lol. I recently did bars on my 21 King. If I remember correctly there were plugs for heated grips - if you do not have heated grips that may explain what you are seeing. Not knowledgeable at all on that year, I'm sure someone who knows will respond soon.

What color are the two wires?

As mentioned above, they may be for heated grips.

Yup , like said above , that plug is for heated grips , guessing you don't have any .

I've done a dozen or more bar changes , the green connector , once unattached can cause issues . Before you button everything up , power up your bike , check for codes and make sure everything is running / working properly . Also , it would be a good idea to use some shrink wrap or electrical tape over that connector , just as a precaution if you decide to keep it .

I have always cut and soldered those wires , removing the green connector all together , never had an issue .
