Garage door openers - What did you install and did it last?
I am looking at a few options for garage door opener options for the motorcycle.
I like the https://rogersunlimitedinc.square.site/ and the https://www.kustomcycleparts.com/product-page/harley-davidson-touring-universal-garage-door-opener-black-button-plu .
One uses motorcycle power, and the other uses a battery. My garage remote batteries lasted a couple years. I do not see why a battery powered remote installed on my bike would not last as long.
I know I can buy an after market remote and stash it on the bike, and then fish it out when I need it. A button would be good for me to have.
I do not have my phone accessible while riding, so using the app is not acceptable for me.
I used to just have a small, battery powered remote velcro'd in the 'cubby' on my 16 FLTRU. Worked great as I was pulling into the driveway.
Then a came across a complete, HD unit in a thrift store for $40.
Man, I am glad I bought that. Not having to even think about a battery replacement . And the signal strength is much better.
I did not wire the HD per the instructions though as I didn't want to go to high beams to activate it.
So I purchased a temporary-on switch from Amazon, wired it up, and installed the button where the cig-lighter was located - using the power and ground from the removed cig-lighter.

And I still go to thrift stores occasionally. I have also found some great items at great prices.
