Default Saddlemen Road Sofa Extended Reach.

I have pretty much decided that this is what I am going with on my 2018 Ultra. Now. There are 3 types of upholsters. Lattice stich. Carbone fiber. And. Plain. I prefer the plain as there is less stiching to wear out and come loose. And. I just like the plain look. Got this offer for $560.00 from a seller on ebay. Only $18.00 less than best price I have seen. Think I will accept the offer. How do you other Road Sofa owners like yours?

I had one for about 6 months. I loved the fact that it moved me back 2" over stock, but it reduced the passenger seat to something unusable for my wife. I also just couldn't get used to how firm it was and I don't believe the shape was quite right for me. I had the plain as well. The rider back rest was great, I highly recommend getting one that can accept the back rest. Even if you don't think you will use it much. After having one, I will never ride long distance without one again. And lastly, they make a 4th style, a pillow top version. It has recessed buttons that make it LOOK softer. It isn't any softer than the others.

Black Ultra. Great review. I ride 100% solo. I never could used to the back rest thingie. Have used it before. Would not let me lean back as far as I wanted. As far as the pillow top version. I have seen reviews where the buttons came loose. Never been a button guy anyway. Have read where it takes awhile to "break in" . Where as some say it doesn't break in after 1000s of miles. With a lot more positive reviews than negative. Going to go for it. Stock seat sucks. I bought this seat because it was only $65.00 . And matched my bike. Not for the long haul.

I put a 5000 miles on mine. Like I said, just never seemed right for me. But all butts are different and you may love it, hope you do. BTW, the Saddleman back rests are very adjustable. I could set it back far enough that I could hardly reach the bars if I wanted to. Just something to think about.

I’ve got 2500 miles on the Saddlemen Road Sofa in carbon fiber and the initial break in was unforgiving but the more miles the more comfortable I got. I’m 6’2 and the 2 inches back are golden to me. Just like BU said the backrest was a must for me.

I've had mine for going on three years and have loved it so far. It did need some break-in mileage but the seating position was spot on for me at 6'2". I got the back rest as well but I've never used it even on long extend day runs. Seemed like the back bolster was enough for me.

I have the Lattice Stitch Extended Reach Road Sofa on my 20 RG. Im only 6 ft tall but I have a 34 inch inseam. Think Opposite of Quick Draw McDraw. So the factory seat had me sitting on the tank and I couldn't ride for more than hour without serious cramping in my back and legs. New seat was perfect. However then I couldn't safely reach the bars. KST 14 inchers to the rescue. I pulled them back slightly so they are more like a set of 12 inchers. Now i can cruise all day pain free. It was $2500. all in and I did the install. But it was worth every penny to me. We get hosed up here on parts prices. Badly.
Good Luck

I've been on "seat quest" since getting my 2022 RG 107. I've been through 5 seats so far. I'm 6' w/ 34" inseam. I've contemplated the RS, both standard and ER, numerous times.

One of the seats I tried (still have it in the garage) was the Mustang Supertour Deluxe w/ backrest. Moves the rider rearward 1.75", up around 1", and I think it maintains passenger dimensions better than the RS ER. My wife is 5'9" w/ 30" inseam, and she liked that it was taller, giving her more legroom, and she didn't find the available fore/aft space too small. Personally, for me, I found it a smidge too far back for me. I like to sit upright than slouching. Haven't found the Goldilocks seat yet though. I've been through....

Mustang Supertour Deluxe
HD Sundowner
Lepera 2up Outcast
Corbin Dualtour
Mustang Standard Solo w/ pillion

Currently using the Mustang Stand Solo / pillion. However, I'm probably going to send it to MCC to see if they can raise it an inch, and open it up more rearward by 1 inch. Or, if I find a deal on a used Mustang Supertour Solo (moves rider back 1.25"), may pick that up as it gets closer to my Goldilocks dimensions.

From my limited experience, the seat will help your leg room by moving you back and /or up. Once you get your legs right, you need to pick some bars that put the grips where you want them. There are 3 points in the rider triangle, butt hands and feet. Moving just 1 of them in not likely to work for most people. I think most people will need to move at least 2, if not all three, to suite their personal dimensions.

Ultimate makes a 'tall boy' seat (an option) moves you back. I have one on my 08 bagger. With a HD circulator pad on top it works well. They have a 14 day trial option....though you pay shipping to return I believe. Have had decent luck with the seat.
