Default considering Goldwing

My neighbor has a 2003 RKC which he runs occassionally. Yesterday we where discussing his desire to make the move to a Goldwing. Looking for a smoother softer ride for his OL.
Seemed so simple, suggested he test ride one. Easier said than done he came back today and we both search high and wide and could not find a Honda rental facility similiar to the network Harley operates.

Anyone familiar with a rental facility in the New England area?

Please spare me the noise about not going to the darkside. He is considering his options and the GW is high on the list.

First question. How Geezy is this Geezer? cuz GWingers make Geezer Gliders look like Hells Angels!

The GW is your last bike before the grave, just look at the average rider of a GW and tell me I'm wrong.

If a motorcycle with a reverse gear gives you wood then I guess a GW is your centerfold.

If a plastic encased motorcyle is what stirs your loins then GW is the way to go.

If your GF, OL, or significant other gets turned on by straddling an electric motor then maybe GW is the way to go.

Why don't you just go over to the GW forum and ask them?

There are plenty of riders on the Goldwing forums that have owned, or CURRENTLY own both. They are probably best qualified to give an [sarcasm]unbiased[/sarcasm] answer!!

My last purchase would probably had been a Wing, had the local dealer not been such a putz. As it is, I am glad I bought another Harley.

It has soul which damn sure makes up for a lack of reverse!!!

And it should be HIGH on his list if he plans on doing some major touring.... For just a week-end runner or short trips there's lots of plastic to clean (lol)... I have had 4 of them and for Touring and have put on more them 500K they we're tops.. (I have always had at least one HD in the garage to keep it company (lol))...

Closest one that I can find that rents GW's is in Virgina: http://www.rental-motorcycle.com/nam...nd_rental.html

Just had a GW after 4 HD's - great set of wheels, just not my cup o' tea.

Help your friend make the right choice - and goin' to the darkside ain't a GW, more likely that would be a Chrysler mini van...

Tupperware on wheels--WHY? Have you considered attending a neighborhood tupperware party?

Check with the local Honda dealers. The ones near me will allow test rides. In fact they are happy to do it.

There is an Eagle Riders in Plainfield, CT that rents Goldwings.
I agree with checking dealers too, the ones around here let folks test ride.
