Probably an FXB Sturgis. 1980 First Year belt drive. Still under AMF. I've seen others mistake them for a sportster. Actually a very cool ride.
To the OP. As others have said check front coil wire. Common issue especially if the mounts are getting weak allowing for movement.
My bad. When we change our the belt and cog sprockets, another Sportster owner was over. His was the AMF tank I remember. Actually only AMF bike I have seen.
My friend's is a 98. Been years ago now. He just told me it has 142,700 on it.
