yes it is covered but you might as well take them out and double up the mounts then reweld otherwise they (HD) will put the same bracket back in that will again break on you.
I just did mine and all went well, this seems to be a common problem.
I took a right angle bracket from Ace and attached mine with lockiing nuts. I also had to fix the bracket for the speaker that had broken but I have not had any more problems with that. I also at the time moved my temp sensor while I was there and now it is a lot closer to the real temp. But when it gets close to 100 then I really don't care what it says cause it is hot no matter what it says.
Ive changed a few "speaker" brackets over the years ... Current 03 ultra ..
"They all do that" Why harley continues to make a part that they know is defective is unknown.. . Also ive changed 4 tour pak rack brackets (over my last 3 hogs)!and 1 month ago the saddle bag support bracket began to crack.. That Harley.,.....Funny company !..
Still no other bike to ride buy HD !
Nick I agree.. No matter what we have to do to keep them running it is still a far cry better then those that rode 25 years ago. And here we are complaining... Go figure!! At least we are now not being noted for constant breakdowns...
