Bought a brand new street glide last september it was my first new harley ever all the other ones were used and i was really excited to finaly buy a brand new one .
changed the bars on it and i needed to get a longer clutch cable and after it was installed i proceeded to do a clutch adjustment when i removed the derby cover i find a major defect in the chrome so i contacted the dealership where my bike getting some work done and ask them to review and contact harley davidson for me .
long story short the dealer told me harley told them that being that its not visible with the derby cover on its not an issue unless it starts to leak or the chrome starts peeling so i called harley and basicly told the same story.
i tried to attach a picture but cant seem to get one to upload it stops at 90% if somoen knows how i can upload a pic i will show you the crap they sold me
thanks

If thats the only issue, we can fix that. I have a stock derby cover off a 2020 FLHX Ill ship you for the price of a medium size box USPS Priority mail, all in.
Lots of people personalize their bikes with different covers anyway.
Id replace it on my own dime and be done with it before Id go to the mat with a dealer or the moco over a derby cover.
Edit: just realized a derby cover probably wont fit in a small Priority mail box. Switched to medium.
Forgive me but I agree with the dealer on this one.... If you cant see it and its not visible looking at the item and its not spreading.. who cares... IF its actively peeling, thats a different story..

Congratulations on your new ride. Don't stress out over the small stuff. Go ride your bike and you will forget about it.
Rarely do I see chrome work that looks good beyond the visible areas.
Agree with the others, pictures of this major defect would help the conversation.

And there you have it folks, the real reason for this forum. One guy helping out another. Great job gonemad!
I just traded my 2020 RGS that I purchased brand new and put 75,000 miles on it. Did not have one single issue or problem of any kind. very high quality machine and the closest thing any Harley of mine has ever come to being a Toyota .. go enjoy riding the hell out of it, should be rock solid reliable
Same with Paint HD will make excuses. And deny warranty.
Harley paint quality is among the industry leaders, if not the best...and they did a recall of some 2023 CVO Whiskey Neat paint jobs by their contractor Gunslinger in Colorado because it wasn't up to their standards is my understanding about what has been published. So c'mon Smitty, we all know you are a MOCO hater, but give some credit where credit is due on occasion.
