I had the chrome peeling off the seat rear mounting tab. I just brough the bike new a few days ago. The sale person s/w the sale manager and stated seats are not cover under warranty. The sale person stated to come back in a hour and gave me a new seat.
That is not going to be a problem until after the warranty is up, then it will start to peel and flake. looks like there was a bigger imperfection there and the factory ground it down.
That never should have been installed on a brand new bike. It should have been scrapped or sold as a blem with a big discount.
It's kind of scary seeing they're installing 2nd rate parts on new bikes under the guise that the end user will never notice it.
If thats the only issue, we can fix that. I have a stock derby cover off a 2020 FLHX Ill ship you for the price of a medium size box USPS Priority mail, all in.
...
I wouldnt really worry about but yes, its definitely shotty craftsmanship. Maybe some chrome polish and some 00 steel wool will clean that up a bit if youre up to it.
