I'm looking for a decent pair of bluetooth helmet speakers. I have a good set of earbuds that work well with my half shell but tend to get displaced when I put on my full face lid. I don't need a communication system, just speakers to link to my GPS. Can someone help steer me in the right direction.
I was in the same boat as you. I tried ear buds, but like you, I couldnt get my helmet on without knocking them out of my ears. There are no motorcycle helmet speaker-only systems Ive found that I would buy. I finally ended up biting the bullet and going with a Cardo system.
The best ones I found were JBL speakers that came with my Cardo system. They work great. Just don't expect a sound like you would from your earbuds, but on long trips, with earplugs on and phone cranked up, you can still hear them very good.
So, I have been looking for the same thing. I don't care about talking on the phone or communicating with anyone since I mostly ride alone. My son sent me this the other day Helmet Speaker. I have not bit the bullet yet because I just spent a chunk on a cam etc from Fuel Moto, but I will report back when I do. It looks like it would be ok and it has a 30 day trail.
I believe you can purchase the JBL speakers Cardo uses from Cardo. They plug in just like earbuds, but you will need a wire extension to get to your phone. The JBL's are nice and slim, and sound ok.
I found a cheaper Chinese one that actually works.. Just be sure you put speakers actually over your ears.. I will send you a PM, it is a communication system, after I heard it I immediately installed in my snowmobile helmet, but like I said be sure to feel where your ears are as my HJC had the indents in the perfect spot but my snowmobile CKX helmet had them way up by the top back of my ear and sound suffered. Once I moved it down it was great. Comes with two microphones also, if you have a Modular it has the boom style but a fixed full face it has a wired one that sticks in front of mouth. FYI I am not getting any sort of kickback just one I found that does not break the bank.
