When I got my 18 FLHR, in addition to being younger, I preferred the lower, wider beach bar. Multiple shoulder and elbow surgeries later, I'm finding the OEM bar on my newer Electra Glide relieves some ride pain in those areas. For reference, I'm 6'3" and long in torso. Yeah, wtf would I prefer beach bars: long story involving learning on dirt bikes.
I've thought about going to a 14 inch bar on my RK but I still have the OEM bar. Why not just add a 2-3 riser on the OEM bar and angle a little back? The only downside I see is I lose the cover off the bar mount because the riser can't accommodate. No biggie, maybe.
Advance apologies: I searched forums and never really found a precise match to what I'm looking for which is has anyone just added a riser to OEM bar on a non-faring touring to get more of a higher bar set?
Not a touring bike but I did this on my Night Train Softail. I found a 2" spacer that was meant for a sportster and used it on my softail. Here is a pic on my softail and a link I found to a similar part on ebay. It looks like it would be loose, but it is not. Ive put about 15K mi on this set up and it was just the lift I needed.

I have not added risers on my Road King. But if you want to you will need a cover like the one in the link.
