"After I installed a Freedom Shield on my 2018 Street Glide Special, there was a slight gap on both sides."

@steelpony16, that begs the question. Do you have an after-market windshield installed?

No Sir.....
I just put it all back together and now both sides have a space, I'm starting to think it's the LED Adaptive head light that has
that heat protection grill on the back of it, preventing the fairing from sitting properly.

I wonder if this goes on in addition to the seal that's currently there or do I cut out what's there?....
No need to cut/remove what's there, just line up the edge alongside the OE seal. It sticks to the inside of the outer fairing, don't overlap the edge over the OE seal. Clean the surface with an alcohol wipe prior to application. You may still notice what appears to be a slight gap, but the gap is now watertight.

I found it odd that there's a difference in price between left & right. They're side specific due to the location of the cut-outs, but they're basically a mirror image of each other, both are identical lengths.

Interesting diagnosis. The batwing models that are factory equipped with non-adaptive LED headlights don't utilize the heat protection grill that is present on the adaptive version.

Does the adaptive version produce more heat than the non-adaptive version necessitate the grill? IDK.

I have a thicker windshield and a organizer inside the windshield. I purchased this on Amazon and it works 100%. It comes in different thicknes and widths.

I don't know either.....

The 2 gaskets that you installed, is it safe to say they compress? (they are soft)

I honestly can't recall how soft/firm they were. It's been about 6 years since I installed them, and I haven't been back inside the fairing to see if they have compression marks on them. My main concern was water intrusion, and I'm confident the seals took care of that.

My first thought is, something is pinched, or in the way. A wire where you aren't expecting it to be, or maybe a bung has come misaligned.

Good morning Sir, I picked up the 2 gaskets on Saturday. I'm curious, Once installed, will the gap appear bigger?
Will I see the new gaskets once fairing is closed up?
Really appreciate it, TIA

In my case the seals didn't make the gaps any wider. When I'm seated on the bike, they are barely visible to my old eyes.
