New doesn't guarantee perfect, that is why there are warranties. There are occasional "infant mortalities" or manufacturing defects. What went bad with the previous sensor? You are still using the same wiring and connections.

New twist grip has been tested and is fine. Got the long wire one. Old one was shot and didn’t work. Internal wiring was bad on it.

@frostyglide I just remembered something that happened to mine after reading that your twist grip was replaced. After I put a second set of taller bars on my '14, there was an occasional off-idle stumble. I eventually tracked it down to a 6-pin plug right near the handlebar clamp. The female part of one of the pins was loose and was making intermittent contact - it turned out to be a twist grip wire and I wasn't the first to have the issue. That was a pain in the rear to diagnose but I got it done. Harley actually had the replacement crimp pins in stock if that tells you anything.
