Default Crooked passenger board

Anyone else have a passenger board crooked like this? It's on the brake side. I've owned a few of these bikes over the last 25 years and never seen a crooked passenger board like this. I know they can't be perfect but everything always looked visually straight.

I've never seen that before. I wonder if it's one of two things: Either there is play, and therefor adjustability in the bolts, or the bracket is bent.

The floorboards are ambidextrous… swap them and see if it’s the floorboard or the frame !

I'd probably just grab and twist, to see if I could put it back right again.

I swapped the boards and no difference so the brackets are good. It's the surface of the frame where the bracket mounts that is off. The only way I know to correct it would be to remove some of the material from the high side, maybe with a file or a rotary tool with a grinding disc. I would need to remove at least 1mm maybe 1.5mm to make it reasonably straight. HD's build quality had diminished considerably as of late in my opinion.

Good grief, that's a lot to grind off.

I think I would grind the mounting bracket, not the frame. You could also fabricate a shim for the low side to square it up. Cutting a strip out if an old credit card, library card or the like might do the trick.

I did try that but it kept squeezing out, maybe I can find some adhesive or something to hold it in place. The credit card I used was 1mm thick, that's how I came up with the amount I would need to grind off. I know one thing it bugs the heck out of me so I got to fix it.
