Well that's disappointing. That was a whole point for me to do GTS upgrade. Surprising there is no reliable product for wireless Carplay.
Mine was on a cvo bike with the whim installed and the GTS radio. Jumper doesnt work on that setup, you need a headset connected to enable carplay and then you can plug in the phone to the usb in the cubby for it to work. Your setup might be different.
I used the carplay2Air one, when they were new out, for about a year on both my bike and truck, I seldom ever had an issue on the bike, the truck was more frequent but unplug it plug it back in and the problem fixed itself. A year and a half ago switched to the AutoSky one because of its size, and the other one had gotten quite flaky in the truck. New trucks system generally plays well with the AutoSly one, but ever now and then it will have a connection error and unplugging it and plug it back in generally fixes it. One time I just removed it from my phones Bluetooth devices and let it re-discovered it, and did the quick set up, and its been good for a couple months. The one on the bike hasnt had an issue, except if I turned the ignition on, then turn it off by mistake, and power up again screwing up its connection process Id guess, then it wouldnt connect until I turned off for a bit, then the next time it was back to normal but over all really reliable on the bike and its like 50 bucks . I like that its small and be mounted where its easily accessible and still be out of the way
I am using the CPlay2Air device and it works consistently. 2020 street glide special, Whim, Harley 20S Evo wireless headset. BUT, you have to go through a start up sequence in the right order (it's fussy and won't work unless the headset is connected to the bike "boombox" first)
turn on your phone (face, thumb, pass code)
unplug CPlay2Air from the USB connector in the dash compartment
turn on the bike and start the motor
wait at least 30-40 seconds to allow the boombox to restart if it needs to
turn on the head set and listen for "connected to boombox"
plug in the CPlay2Air and your phone will connect
If the i-phone had a 30 second delay before it looked for the headset, it would probably avoid all this.
Thanks guys. I think I'll have to just go ahead and give one of these products a try.
Also How about this scenario....will this work ?
Worst thing.... I have enough points on my credit card to get another Iphone that I can just keep plugged in the cubby that gets its data from my regular Iphone that I plan to leave in the saddlebag.
Cubby Iphone will be connected to my phone on hotspot. Will this cause delay in data transmission to Boom GTS ?

i tried that with an android phone tethered to my iphone. didn't work as i had hoped. so pulled it out.
i bought this as a test, figured if it didn't work, amazon has a good return policy so i wouldn't be out anything. so far it's working great. easy to set up, and it just starts working as soon as i fire up the bike. the only downside that i have found so far is that when it connects to carplay, i have to press the 'play' button on pandora. for some weird reason, it always starts up paused.... not that big a deal, but weird, nonetheless.

Wow, thats huge. Autosky is the size of a USB thumb drive, fits in my glove box, and works like a champ (at least for me anyway). Wifey has one in her car too no issues.
