I have a 05 EGC and 70 is about 3000 rpm. I have 13 k miles on mine and I had a vibration that got progressively worse over time. My selling dealer hardly fixed any complaints I ever had so I took my bike to the next closest dealer. They not only cured my major drivabilty problems by replacing the valve stem seals, but they also replaced my front motor mount for the vibration issue. The mount seemed as if it took a month to break in and loosen up but it seem good as new. Is your vibration coming from the power train or chassis. The way to find out is ride at the vibration speed and pull in the clutch and let the engine idle. If it goes away then it is coming from the powertrain or maybe the motor mounts. If it stays it is in the chassis or wheels. Hope this helps.
Is the vibration kind of a side to side shake? Thay's what mine was doing, and the top motor mount was loose. Not broken - loose. I had checked it visually and it looked fine, but once I put a wrench to it, it was pretty bad. 10 minutes took care of the problem.
I had vibrations in my street glide, dealer found both tires out of balance by over a ounce from factory, after rebalance 90 % was gone. Mine did it at 2500-3k then smoothed out.
Not trying to highjack the thread. I have a 05 flht that has developed a (almost thumping like) vibaration that i can feel in the floor boards and highway pegs at around 70mph. ( seems like i feel it more on the left side of the bike) Could it be a loose or broken motor mount? I will try pulling in the clutch tomorrow at the vibration speed and see if that changes anything.
Thanks in advance.
