Am planning on riding my 2018 Ultra there next month. So. That should qualify posting in this sub-forum.
Riding out of Waco. Checking off my bucket list. Before I check out. One heart beat away. As they say. Surely some one here has been there? Once I get there I plan on taking at least 2 or 3 days going through the museum. Any tips on where to stay. What else to check out. I know the Blue Ridge Parkway is close.. May Jesus Have Your Six.

You'll have a blast. Wheels Through Time is closed Tuesday and Wednesday. I ride to North Carolina every year, and stay a few days in Maggie Valley. Tail of the Dragon is about 70 miles away and a must ride. BRP is right close between Maggie and Cherokee, every road a blast to ride. Moonshiner 28 you'll hit on the way to the Dragon. Cherokee has a large Casino if you're into that type of thing, lots of food and drink there. You can get a good burger at the Dragon also.
You can see most of the museum in a day. My favorite bikes are the Traub, and the Les Myers Panhead drag bike. Myers was a Harley Dealer in Whiskey Falls way back in the 40's and 50's, and a drag racer. Lots of history from my area I wasn't even aware of.
I spent almost a half day with Dale one time. I stopped there and they had a film crew filming and he needed help to move some bikes around and I said hell yeah!. It was a coincidence really, my wife and I just wanted to visit the museum good memories.
To hear and feel those 100 years old bikes running was a trip.

We are going to be there Memorial Day week. As suggested, check thier website for days open and hours open. Been in MV twice and the place was closed. I can do a full day in the Museum, 2-3 is pushing it by I get it. Lots of great riding in the area. MV has a bunch of hotels and motels right on the main strip, the entire town is very Biker friendly, never had an issue there. We have 3 couples so we found a VRBO right up the hill from WTT for 4 nights.
When I did my 48 state ride I kept a trip log. Here is an excerpt from my log. "After leaving Deals Gap I exited 129 on Wayah Road (look it up). It was a great road, one of the best I've ever been on."
