They were good to deal with and offer free shipping over $149 I believe.
I made an appointment and rode down to their shop and they installed and set everything up for a couple hours labour charge. They’re an Ohlins certified shop. I think they’re into mostly motocross and enduro but no issues with the Road Glide. The tech really knows his stuff.
I realize you’re too far from there but at least you can order and pay in CDN dollars without all the cross border hassle.

I hope they installed more than just a set of rear shocks.....

Rear shocks take what, 20 minutes to install....? Maybe 30 if you include wiping down and putting away your tools..

If it took the tech two hours to install a set of rear shocks on a bagger, I don't know I would say that he "really knows his stuff"

Wow, you’re my new hero. Speed wrencher guy.
i don’t have the jack or tools anymore so I don’t mind paying someone to do it. At the end of the day, I’m riding out of there with a way better ride than when I got there so I’m happy.
When I said he really knew his stuff, that was with regards to going over all the adjustment and set up possibilities with me.

I probably could have said it better.....

I wasn't bragging, as I am just an enthusiast who works on my own bikes. If I can do it in 30 minutes, a trained, skilled tech should be able to do it better, and a bit faster....

I meant to suggest that 2 hours labor for a bagger shock change is excessive....

Over the years my experiences with some dealerships and some shops has given me an automatic skepticism towards shops I know nothing about. It tends to affect my responses about shops, especially when it seems to me they are overcharging customers.

My apologies if you find your shop to be trustworthy and competent... They are out there and I have used, and know of several. If you are satisfied with their service and pricing, that is all that matters in the end...

Good luck with your shock mod...

Hey I appreciate you.
I used to work on all my motocross bikes and loved it and had the time for it. Now I would rather just ride. The season is not long enough.
It is tough to find aftermarket parts in Canada. Also tough to find (trusted) shops to do the work. I’m just happy to finally get rid of the junk suspended that comes on a stock HD.

They're also valve and ported differently than they would be if purchased directly.
If you're shopping around, the only two reasons to buy the SE's are that you like going through the dealer or you want the black canister rather than Ohlins' gold, otherwise just call Ohlins directly, answer a couple questions, and have them set your suspension up specifically to your needs... It's a no brainier.
My apologies in the way I worded my response. By "indistinguishable" I meant from the rider's stand point, as unless you knew what you were feeling for, you wouldn't know there was a difference. The hardware is much different, and is the reason I called Ohlins directly and ordered them for my weight and riding.
