Have to replace battery. Terminals are way melted. ECM didn’t touch anything. Starter wasn’t used for more than 4 seconds. Hoping to get a used ECM from salvage… Thanks!
New Battery replace or clean cables.
Then see what happens I think is worth a try Sir
I had similar chronic problems with an aftermarket battery, the terminals would loosen, then arcing would damage them when trying to start the bike. Switched to a HD battery from my dealer with cast in steel threads, no spacers required, and no problems since.
I agree with the other posters, this should not have harmed your ECM and it didn't harm mine, a new battery should do the trick.

This will sound stupid/silly but it just happened to me with a new battery. I used the original bolts, they were too long. Even when they were tight/ bottomed out the connections were loose. Don’t just check the bolt connection, check the wires are tight. I reached down and wiggled the wires on mine after I worked them over tightening them. They were still loose. Bolts were too long.
I saw those the last time I replaced the battery and discarded. What's upsetting is that I just bought the current battery back in January before I put the bike in temporary storage. These things are not cheap!
