Is the Clymer really that bad?
Im.not a "mechanic" so I wont be using it to tear down my motor, but it did help in replacing my fuel pump and other assorted minor jobs.
I'll take a look at the HD one.
As for codes.......if I DONT see check engine is it safe to assume I'm good?
And if I DO see it, acceas the code by pushing side button on dash?

Problem with Clymer and Haynes is they cover several years. They cover the common stuff but make you go to section a for 95-98 figure one then a different section for 99-2000. You have to jump around to your proper year and gets confusing and could cause mistakes.

Sorry about that. I don’t know what happened. When I clicked on it, it goes to eBay. Here’s a working link.

Yeah, but they’re worth it if you work on your bike.

You can get a new one from a dealer for $149.95....

I wouldn't give a guy the new manual price for a used manual, whether it is in excellent condition or not....

At the time I posted that, I hadn’t realized what the dealers were charging for that manual. My bad. I’ll try to do better next time.
