This is the amp that I will be using again. It performed well and I never had any issues before.
As others have said, it is quite interesting that HD allows for the installation of a 500W primary amp (125x4: fairing and saddlebag speaks) AND a 600W secondary amp (150x4: 2 subs [and TP speaks?]) on the stock 56-amp charging system (new for 2024+). 1100W at 12VDC is 92 amps, consider an 80% efficiency and you're down around 74 amps.
Without TP speakers (since they aren't mentioned anywhere on HD's site), you're around 67 amps, and at 80% efficiency it's around 54 amps. Maybe when HD puts out TP speakers, they will require an upgrade in charging system?
Considering the price of new Harley Davidsons, it would sure be nice if the MOCO would simply install a decent sounding system from the factory. Pretty much all 4 wheelers come with decent sound systems these days so it shouldn't be that expensive or complicated....
Of course once you open that can of worms, I guess Harley enthusiasts might start expecting the MOCO to provide decent windshields, seats, handlebars, etc. etc.....
Im guilty as charged like others as I have an expensive sound system on my older bagger all to have since spent even more money on a nice comm system that plays my music through my helmet speakers.
Granted I rock a full face and theres plenty that dont and won't do a bike audio system is a necessity if you want music with a beanie or god forbid no helmet but if I had to do over again, Id delete the bike audio altogether and spend the $$ elsewhere.
I don't understand where all this talk of needing an upgraded charging system is coming from. Myself and countless thousands of people have been running upgraded audio for a decade, with no charging issues.
My current configuration is 10 speakers, 3 amplifiers and a dsp on a stock charging system. The only electrical upgrade is a lithium battery.

I have the NVS Plug and Play on my 23 CVO, SD 800.4, Hertz all around, DSP, I have zero issues with charging system, also have the OEM Battery.
With the two current aftermarket options available for improving the stereos sound being extremely expensive, I will installing my own version this weekend. Rockford is super simple and plug/play but not loud enough and the Modified Kenwood alternative is too pricey for the amount of wattage they provide and you still have to do several things. The Modified part about the Kenwood XM160-2 is that it has a remote turn on wire which most amps already do. They use the factory amps speaker leads to plug into the Kenwoods hi-input instead of using rca cables. The Kenwood still requires power being routed and the remote turn on connects to a purple/blue remote wire in the Harley stock wire harness inside and under the fairing (this can be done with any amp that has a hi put option and a remote power).
I will be using a stealth 1000w amp that I had in my previous street glide & I will use two sets of 2 pin connectors (currently unavailable from Harley) to tap into the stock amps output and then plug into the speaker leads. I have not decided if I will try to de-pin the harness for the remote power wire or just use a wire tap but Ill decide this weekend.
All said and done this is under $300 since I found a good deal on a set of midrange 6.5s on sale that I wanted to try.

i finally finished it today and it sounds killer. The hardest part was building and crimping the Molex connections. I did not buy a crimping tool that Ill never use again and couldnt locate one at work. I did end up installing a line output converter so I could increase the gain some. Tried to wrap everything and did a little cable manage. I also had to relocate the excess cable for the headlight so that the amp would not rest on top of it. So far Im pretty satisfied with how it turned out. Ran both 10awg leads through the backbone and up into the fairing. Both are insulted and wrapped. I had a 50amp fuse from a previous project that I used. Final results. The amp is slim and fit in the same location that the Kenwood alternative would rest.

LOL- the red was another left over from a previous project as well.
Behind the light, the main wiring harness has a purple blue stripped wire that Is only pinned on one side. Harley added this as a 12v remote. I used a wire tap instead of trying to de-pin the factory harness. I found this out on the volunteer audio YouTube video about their Kenwood install.
