2016 Road Glide Ultra. Riding on highway and looked at my speedometer. Showed zero for speed. Figured it was a glitch but as I got ready to turn the corner the engine shut off. Coasted to a stop powered off all switches and started the engine perfectly. Read the code as B1153 RHCM internal fault.
Is this code truly a right hand control module problem or do I need to dig deeper?
I would suspect a wiring issue. Are the bars stock? The '14-'16 Ultras had an issue in a 6-pin plug below the bars that had bad pins - they become too loose once disconnected. The dealer sells upgraded pins, but I bought some online along with a crimping tool. Took me several days to find that issue.
As is typical, a code tells you what system to explore but RARELY identifies the exact problem. That is one of the most disappointing features of modern computer control of everything. However, not having to check everything that might cause a specific problem is a big help.
