The “Off/Run” switch on the right handlebar I switch to “Run”.
then I hold the “trip” button down and turn the Ignition switch to “On”.
the display shows - d01clr, I click again, -d02clr, I repeat this all the way through
-d09clr, and click again and “PPU” comes up. Then back to repeat all again.
Im assuming the ‘d01clr’, the ‘clr’ means clear. I can’t find info on
the “PPU”. Anyone else have these come up?
I think you are right about clr. I also think PPU is normal plus some kind of long number You can't get all the codes in that year. You have to do a paper clip trick to and get a more code type reading. Its in the electric manual. and probably on the internet.
Are you just looking, or having problems? Do you have a code up right now you are trying to read?
I was having stalling issues, abrupt stalling while riding. Then it wont start back up for 5-10 minutes. The last time it stalled i tried on and off for 30 minutes and it wouldn't start. I’ll have to try jumping the 2 terminals on the DTC plug. I don't think I have an ‘engine’ light on the speedometer to flash codes though, just an ‘oil’ light.
At first I thought the float bowl wasn’t letting fuel in, but when it stalls it doesnt putter out like it was running out of gas, it just cuts off.
So the bike cranks over, but won't start? Carry a spark plug. Stick it on quick and see if you got spark. Leave plugs in. Though the problem is you are riding a bike you can't trust, and I sure would not want to go far.
It is a 20 year old bike. Myself, I would not be afraid to throw parts at, because it is 20 years old. CPK is good start , coil is too.
My 2001 FLHR is on the 3rd coil with 90k miles.
