Default Road King Wheel size change

Hello, I have a 2010 Road King FLHR with a 16 inch rear and 17 inch front wheel, stock suspension. I really don't care for the stock knuckle wheels and would like to swap to something else. Someone local is selling a pair of enforcer wheels with a 16 inch rear and 19 inch front for a very good price. I had already considered that size change for aesthetic purposes. If I went that route should I expect a noticeable difference in handling/comfort? Should I stick to the stock wheel size? Thanks

I put enforcers on my 12 and like them a lot. To me it feels better in curves, and rides great.

Thanks, looks great. Is that a 16 inch rear and 19 inch front?

Yes, you’ll also need front rotors and hardware if they don’t have them. Also will need to make sure you use the correct wheel bearings (ABS different than non ABS).

You wont see any difference in handling. 17 or 19 the same ride.

I agree you shouldn't feel any handling differences. The 19" Harley wheels came with 130/60 tires to keep the same overall diameter as the 16" and 17" front wheels. I had the 17" knuckle wheels on my '13 King and I couldn't get rid of them fast enough. IMO those enforcer wheels will look great on your King! I personally like those and the Agitator wheels.

Thanks for the feedback. The used wheels in looking at come with rotors and the front wheel is 130/60 and the rear is 180/65. I think I'll end up going for it

I’ve had two M-8 Glides, ’20 and a ‘22 with those low profile front tires on 19” rims, and 18” rear. Seems I’m reading here the ride is the same as the smaller wheels that come with the “taller” tires on Road King? Not in my experience.

Was going to try and replace the wheels on my 2022 Road Glide Special with standard Road King wheels to get the taller tires and better ride, same as new Police bikes. I solved that problem. Sold the ’22 Glide and bought a new police FLHP Road King. 17” front and 16” rear. Love the ride.

It seems like when I read a bad review like yours it usually involves a larger rear wheel as well as the larger front. I couldn't find a thread that answered my exact question which is the 16 rear and 19 front. I wonder if 16/19 would be noticably different that the 18/19 you had?

The shorter sidewall on the 19 makes the steering noticeably more responsive, with a slightly less smooth ride on really crap roads. It’s not a big deal, and the better handling is worth it. I put the 17 back on when I’m getting a new tire on the 19 and I’m always glad to take it back off. I don’t like 18” rears either but you’re right that wasn’t the question.
