Default Cam Timing Explained with Picture

Found this picture in the HD SE catalog and thought it was a good pictorialexplanation of cam timing.

Thanks to PhilM for converting the image to something that could be posted; and, apologies to any who looked at the message before I got the image in the post--took three tries (I ain't the sharpest knife in the computer drawer).

Phil: I found it helpful because so much emphasis is placed on lift with little attention paid to cam timing when cams are discussed on the forum and, frankly, the information (beyond just lift)that is provided didn't make much sense to me. The picture helps me a lot to understand what those timing numbers mean.

I just read an article in a mag with just about the same picture. It does help me out, but I am still a bit lost as to what I would need. LOL
