After our trip I have decided that I want to put a set of Rinehart true duals on my Ultra. If I change out the headers an the mufflers will I need to have the dealer re map the ECM? Thanks for your help.
Just mufflers, no remap needed......dual headers and a remap should be done. If you are going to be putting new exhaust on then you should probably go Stage 1 and change out the A/C also. I use an Arlen Ness Big Sucker. Whatever you use, go with a K&N filter.
As DAWG said... If you change over the complete exhaust system (True-duals) you will need to up-date the ECM - But if you're going to go that far - Finish the Stage 1 - You will improve the over-all performance & will reduce the heat issue...
Ness Big Sucker Air Kit is the one I would recommend
And depending on how much you want to spend on a Fuel Management System??? Easy one that does work well and won't kill your pocket book would be the Vance & Hines FuelPak - But it is limited on any additional up-grades to your engine...
My neighbor has a 07 ultra and he put duals on and no remapin and no air kit runs good Have a friend who put on duals got it remapped and air and it gets around 120 miles to a tank of gas SHI**Y so i say just put on duals and see how she runs GOOD LUCK
