Default Exhaust Updates

I just purchased some Vance & Hines Duals and Ovals here on the forum for my '05 Road King Custom Fuel Injected - Will I need to purchase a Fuel Pak or other computer tuner? If so, does anyone have suggestions or opinions on the pros and cons of different brands? I am totally new to Fuel Injected bikes, so any help is welcome - I consider myself an idiot at this point concerning FI.

Might be a good idea a FuelPak works very well and very user friendly (30 min set-up & install) and don't forget the Air Kit... Would highly recommend Ness Big Sucker (cleanable filter)... Then your STAGE 1 will be done and you will improve your overall performance & sound...

Oh yea... If your going with a True Dual set-up you'll need to get a new set of exhaust gaskets...

I guess am wondering if the Fuelpak or any other fuel management system is really necassary. I want a good sound (the SE slipons just did not do it on this bike) but I am not really concerned with more power. However, I don't want to screw up the bike because it needed some type of aftermarket fuel management.

If you're just doing SLIP-ONS "ONLY" you dont have to .... But if your going over to True Duals & AIR KIT... you need to!

Loud does not = Performance

The bike already has the SE Air box and SE slipons - So I would assume the dealer did the stage 1 update on the bike - does this help anything when I install the true duals or will I need further fuel management?

Thanks again for all the help

Think the key word here is " *** U ME" (lol)...

If they did it... you should be ok... Do the change over and ride it... If it starts acting up (missing\less power\back firing ... etc...) - or after checking your spark-plugs for strange wear you can go from there...

If you have the SE Air Kit ya might want to change over to a K&N replacement filter (they're cleanable)

That's what I did. Wish had gone with the AN BS, with the chrome backing. I still need to buy a chrome backing for my kit, so I can run an open element, and still look purty. LOL The AN BS sure would have saved me some cash. I didn't find this site until after I bought the SE a/c. [:@]I swear, with every HD purchase, they should put a little card in the paper work with www.hdforums.com in it. LOL I know I preach about this site all the time. If I had cards, it sure would be easier to get the word out (HINT HINT).
