hi guys, bar none yuasa’s GYZ32HL Sealed Factory Activated YUAM732GHL 500cca AGM battery (currently avail on eBay for $186 inc s&h) is the best hi perf battery for an Hd IMHO.
I had this battery in my prior 09 flhtcu that spun it over fast hot like the plugs were out & lasted the 6yrs I had it when I sold it so don’t know the full Srv’c life it had.
The prior battery was a big crank/DEKA type 400cca AGM that lasted approx 3-3.5yrs & it struggle to hot start the bike at times like post fueling up in summer temps where the factory activated 500cca yuasa battery shined:earned its additional cost over the big crank/delay 400cca battery.
kero in mind when a new 400cca battery weakens over its life like for ex 1.5-2yrs later from 400cca to 300-325cca the larger yuasa 500cca battery weakens to 400-425cca over 1.5-2yrs still having 100 more cca’s avail to restart a hot hd vtwin np.
hsppy motoring.

Btw, the basically stock 25k mile 2013 Electra-glide limited I just bought has a brand new Hd AGM battery rated at I think is 410 or 420cca’s does have a little hesitation at times spinning the motor over hot like post fueling up in temps above 78-80 deg. Thats with an Ultracool twin fan assist oil cooler, love jugs mity mite cooling fans & Dkcustoms tank lift kit keeping the TC103 motor nice & cool. Before I installed the 3 cooling mods the oil temp ran 245-250deg + in 80-85deg with hot idle oil pressure at 2 psi & at cruise/2,500tpm 25psi to now with the 3 cooling mods in same temps with same oil & idle speed idles now at 13-15psi & at 2500rpm cruise at 30-31psi which is a great improvement for sure. Oil temp I’m sane heat cond now run max of 220-225deg but now runs 195-210degon avg in 80-85deg outside temps vs the 245-250deg+ temp the oil used to run before I installed the 3 cooling mods.
Oh,forgot,I also installed DK’s external crankcase breather system too!
happy motoring.

Ive been running the 16 cell Antigravity battery going on 3 years now, 0 issues, very small and very lite, however; if the bike is not running she's on the charger.

Average 6 years out of the X-Rated battery (ThrottleX). On my second or third one and I’m very pleased with this brands performance. But that was California climate, now it’s Central Utah. Just put the a last one in October ‘24. Currently having highs in the upper 20’s to mid 30’s with lows in the teens so we’ll see how the battery stands up to the killer cold come riding season.

Cold bikes are hard to crank, but heat kills the battery. Any thing over 76 degrees starts to degrade lead acid batteries. Which is why I think you see such short battery life down south. Either that or it is to hot to ride, so they don't get charged as much as they do up north.

So replace every part and you'll have peace of mind. I don't get it. I replaced the battery on my Ultra and it lasted only 6 months.

The battery threads are right up there with oil threads .... Each new rider replying has their procedure that should be followed and if anyone questions their opinion the keyboards start smoking ... Do this, don't do that, can't you read the sign !!

I recently replaced my solar gate opener dual 12V batteries. They are AGM and are supposed to be designed for the temps seen across the US. The manufacturer says battery operating temps are 50° to 85°F and life is reduced if they exceed 100°F. It's over that for much of the summer here, plus they are housed in a molded plastic dome so they get even hotter. I had considered switching to Lithium but they max out at 77°F - pointless in most of the country.

Probably hard to do in florida unless you have more than one bike. Let the bike sit for a week off any tender. If it starts right up, use it.. If it cranks a little slow, replace.
