Since we have a tire sealant expert among us, perhaps you could direct me to the formula I should use for the car tires on my bikes? Do they make a car-tire-on-a-motorcycle specific formula? Should I mix the two in some magical formula? Also, you say that the hole plugging fibers are different between the two types, is that because cars run over different size objects than motorcycles or the objects leave different size holes? Not in my experience.
Jest aside, I'm not falling for marketing hype, I bought, compared and used both products. They are either the same or close enough that the gel will stay where it's supposed to and the fibers will plug any holes. I honestly don't think the stuff cares if it's a car, truck, tractor, wheelbarrow or bike tire. The gel leaks out of the hole and the polymer bits plug it up.
Works for me, anyway.
hey, I'm sorry if I'm coming across as an "expert". I'm not. The fact you come from the Darkside says it all for me. Go ahead and you do you. Even if I were an expert you'd not listen and say it was "marketing hype"

Thanks for the IQ check - I'll try to keep this simple. It's a carrier gel with bits in. The gel leaks out and the bits get stuck in the hole.
If you prefer yours with more Astroglide and shorter Kevlar strands, go for the good stuff. I know what's worked in my tires. As far as your weak insult - I'm the one laughing.

I have learned over the years that darksiders dislike anything but agreement with them. Anyone who is not willing to convert is "throwing money away", "listening to the hype", "is too stupid to comprehend", "low skilled rider", etc.
I have ridden a bike with a care tire on it. It was the same as my bike, but did not have my shocks and springs setup. Was only a couple hours of riding in the WV mining roads. I have listened to many who have ridden dark side for 100s of thousands of mile for 20 years. This does not include the rigid frame chopper guys I know and knew.

"does
Just not fer me!
yeah, I was just saying someone who will ride a car tire on the rear is very likely going to go for any version of a given product at the lower cost as it all does the same thing anyway...just at better value. Who knows, he might be right. There was no insult there at all. I've also ridden a bike with a car tire setup and frankly I could not tell the difference... at least in the conditions I was riding. I thought (briefly) about doing it myself. I tend to be a little OCD though. There is always the "correct" tool for every job, or the "right way" to approach any challenge. So I'm not a good candidate. Anyway, I'm glad I at least gave him a laugh today which is something we have too little of these days.
I'm surprised it took this long for mention of the slime. I'm not a fan of the slime. Although I've only used it once a few years ago, I've had good luck using these DynaPlugs. They no longer sell their mini air pump, so I also carry a cordless air pump.
Once I had to spray the mushroom style plug with a bit of "Quick wax " type cleaner in my bag to get the plug in.
Yes, I found that the lube these plugs come coated with sometimes just wasn't enough. The head on the plug would fold over and distort in the applicator tube when the plunger started forcing the plug through that little tube. I think just about anything with a bit of "slip" would work. Spit on it if there's nothing else available.
