Lowering Kits
Despite what many will and have said, if done right, lowering your ride with proper suspension can give great results. Remember the Ultra Classic Low and Ultra Low from a few years back? They used the H-D profile low shocks front and rear (1" lower all around).
I'm a bit height challenged and wanted to get "flat-footed" on my King. I have 12" shocks in back and a lowering kit up front. The 12" rear shocks have a 3 1/4" travel and with proper sag, will sit about 11 1/4" when sitting on the bike. I don't carve canyon roads, but I enjoy the twisties as much as anybody and have no issues. The rear shocks I have are by Ohlins and are a great set of shocks for me.
I've also had my seat modified to get and extra 1 1/2" lower as well. That combo gets me flat-footed with a slight knee bend.
