No sir, I did not. If I think about it tomorrow, I may mess around with it some more though.

Glad you successfully completed the test. Were you able to access the ACRs by just removing the tank and nothing else?

I have the tank off anyhow for a seeping rocker cover gasket, so it DEFINITELY made it super easy to get to them. Never looked to see how accessible they are with the tank still in place. I knew the tank was coming off this month, so I just waited. You can see how available they are with it off though.....

So, with/without power to the bike, I couldn't get any readings at all that would indicate that there were a set of contacts closing to ground on either wire of the ACR connector plug. Not sure what that tells us, but I just hope this all works and helps with the starting issue I have......

Don't want to be insulting but I will ask anyway. Did you use an ohm meter to check for continuity on the ACR ground wire when the start button is pushed, one probe to the ground wire and the other to any convenient ground?

Yup, and it's ok to double check.

And surely the ECM doesn't "know" that the starter solenoid wire to the starter is disconnected because the starter is laying on the floor in the shop, right? It's only a single wire. Don't know how the ECM would get that feedback.....

Edit- but the starter relay IS clicking.....

@MotoJockey So, wondering if, when you finally started the bike for the first time, you still got that 1/2 of a second pause? Thanks.

I sure did...... or at least, way more often than not for sure. Before last summers 2 month road trip, just to be safe, I pulled the battery out and had it load tested at the local OReily's Auto and all was good. Unfortunately, that bike had catastrophic lifter failure in VA while only two weeks into our trip and I had to get a new bike there. Had the old one shipped back to CA for a rebuild in the future. I'll see what those ACR's look like then as far as crusty and sticky or what not.

Yeah, I appreciate it. That saves me the trouble of testing mine. I have a twin-cooled, so I have a little more work to do to remove and replace them, which is something I’m not looking forward to doing.
