Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum, I have a 2014 street glide with just over 3k miles on it. The other day i went to ride and noticed i had a engine light and the red "dot" light were on in my speedo gauge and I have no power to my left hand controls. Ive checked my fuses they're all good. Cleaned my battery terminals (which looked fine before cleaning) and don't see and pinched wires anywhere in any easy to see areas. Does anyone have a suggestions on what the issue might be caused from?
Plenty of issues with the switch packs crapping the bed in the Rushmore bikes. What codes are coming up?
I don't have access to a diagnostic tool. And can't do a diagnostic using the trip button since I don't have any power to the left switch pack, unless there's another way to I'm not aware of.
Put a new switch pack in and it still doesn't work. I checked and have power going to the plug. Does anyone have any other suggestions about what to check before I start ripping the fairing apart chasing wires? (And yes I checked all my fuses)
"I checked and have power going to the plug"... what plug? What, where, why did you start checking at that "plug"?
Electrical stuff is a pain, but you need to be systematic AND persistent with your approach.... A to B to C, etc, etc. You need to know what you are searching for, and where you should find it.... just randomly checking stuff will add a lot of time and effort to the mix...
The check engine light can be so many things, and the solid red light is the security light if I understand you correctly...The problem seems isolated to the one side... which could be a pinched wire, a loose connector, etc. Have you done any recent work that required "handling" the harness on the side that is affected?
It would be so much easier if you find a way to read any codes that are present.... Do you have a friend with a PowerVision tuner? It won't be married to your ECM for tuning, but it will plug into your ECM port and tell you what codes are present...
Do you have an electronic diagnostic manual? Might be time to get one....
Sorry I can't offer more/better help. I hate electrical problems, but I have suffered through a few of them.... they can be time consuming and frustrating... Good luck with your repair... keep us posted...

this all started after I turned the bike on after I had it strapped down in my trailer. I saw no wires that I pinched with straps but maybe from the jolting of driving down the road is the only thing I can figure. And no I don't know anyone with a diagnostic but it seems to me like it would be best for me to go buy one. Thanks again for the advice.
There are only 4 wires that go to that hand control that have any effect on it working or not. Any 1 of the 4 could prevent it working. There is can bus hi, can bus lo, ground, and power. There is a 4 pin connector that provides this to each side of the controls. They plug in down behind the key switch by the neck of the frame. I would find them, unplug them, and switch the two, then see if the problem goes to the right side or not. If switching them does nothing then you have a bad switch pack, or there is an issue with the wiring from the neck up through the bars somewhere.
