.
There is more to big bike skills than landing. What happens when you hit gravel or uneven pavement on a stop? When I have issues holding a bike up, it's time to retire from riding.

I won't be buying a mobility trike from Harley, probably a nice old car to tour with...

When someone says this, to me they just ain't into bikes. My interest is not cars. I do realize a time comes when we all have to stop. But just because you have a bad knee doesn't mean your reflexes are bad. I was injured young. Glad I didn't get stuck in a car the rest of life. Ahhh.

At around $3500 (mentioned in the video, but probably more now) I would definitely consider them....IF, I repeat IF I could no longer ride my HD Ultra Limited because of any hip, leg, or knee issues. It's a lot less expensive to give those a try, than to trade mine in for a trike, which I have no interest in at all.

They sure would come in handy when maneuvering to park a 900 lb motorcycle in the far corner of my garage. It definitely would eliminate a front wheel chock....AND make it a stable breeze to move the cycle backwards.

So, while not something I need now, I'd consider it IF the need ever arise.

($3650+ install)
It's air operated, so if the bike is stored in the corner of the garage and it loses air it's coming down, so ya gotta be careful with that. It's an assist aid, so not something you should put 100% confidence in.
And it's a LOT cheaper than a new trike or a conversion.

IF I were really interested, I'd want to ask a lot of questions first. Your comment on maintaining air pressure long term is a good one. Perhaps when down they actually "lock" in some way. I'd also want the manufacturer to point me to any previous customers in my area so I could see the system in person and get a review.....but that's me.....lots of research and due diligence first!

I don't think all of them are air assisted. The ones years ago I thought were just training wheels, so you still had to handle the bike, but if you went to far they would catch. But I have not rode a bike with them

I understand why someone would go this route and applaud anyone for wanting to stay on two wheels longer but I'd have concerns if it is automatic deployment (?) I've had to stop on some pretty gnarly cambers before or pulled off onto a shoulder that was several inches below road height. Imagine them being already deployed and pitching you sideways! maybe there's an over ride button.

Yeah, you're probably right, I was only riding motorcycles since I was 14, or well over 50 years, not much interest in bikes. The issue is that these devices are built for level ground. On gravel and uneven pavement, you are looking at a tip over (you might have missed reading that part in your haste to bash another member).

It's not an issue of reflexes, but strength, which we tend to loose north of 70. Old farts like Rounders and myself need to know our limits....

I suspect people with these don't pull over on steep shoulders, and pay attention to the terrain.

Myself, hopefully a long time before I need this. But I did face the possibility when I was young of not being able to ride again. Be honest never thought abut these, they are not that common. 3rd wheel or XL.

It is not about time it is about interest. I have no interest in being in a car. I just can't imagine on a nice summer day sitting in a car, because trikes upset me.
