It's not a full-time on system if you dont want it to be.
It's and AID to keep you on two wheels, I like the idea. Might take a minute for the learning curve.
Conceptually I have no issues with a device that helps people keep their bike upright. I don't judge whether (or not) someone should be riding with an aid, as long as that aid doesn't compromise anyone's safety. I think about reverse gear and fully automatic transmissions. I think about voice-activated navigation which removes all need for map skills and memory...theoretically at least. A lot of us are already riding with many aids....hill assist anyone?....and enjoying them. A set of auto-deploying stabilizer wheels could be the aid that keeps a dedicated 2 wheeler on 2 wheels instead of a trike. When you think about it, a trike is the ultimate aid for riders who can no longer manage a 2 wheeled bike.
As riders age I think we'll see more innovations designed and intended to keep us out there on the road riding the machine we love.
Similar have been around for years. I don't think the older ones deployed. ran into a couple into their 70s each on their own goldwings pulling trailers going Alaska, again. A ride many on here couldn't do. I have not seen a set for awhile, since trikes have become more common. But the advantage is you are riding two wheels and not 3
People go to trikes when they get old, why not stay on two wheels?
Why is there an advantage to riding 2 wheels vs 3? Some people realise it's time so they can keep riding. Maybe medical, maybe feel safer on 3. I'll wait here for one of your usual answers.

I would guess the bike with training wheels is more like riding a bike than machine with 3 wheels. Surely more so than trike.
Does this meet your expectations of my usual answer?
