I don't recall anyone saying there is "an advantage" to riding 2 wheels vs 3... or that 2 wheel riders are better than 3 wheel riders.

But they are a different experience.

I personally don't like 3 wheels... My preference is 2. So I will ride 2 as long as I can.

If I need to switch to 3 wheels, for whatever reason, I'll do a side car. Different from a 2 wheeler, different from a trike, and only my preference if I have to switch to 3 wheels...

Everyone is free to ride whatever they prefer...

We see people on trikes frequently and don't think much about it. I tried a 3 wheeled ATV awhile back and discovered I just couldn't turn due to brain conditioning. Have been on motorized 2 wheelers since 14, 80 now, and if I can't lean into a turn, my brain knows it is going to die. For me, the landing gear would seem to be the only option.

I believe gravel is problem when using our feet. Unconsciously, we push outward, along with pushing down, to keep vertical when stopped. The gravel acts like ball bearings under our feet and they slide outward, thus losing our ability to stay upright. With experience we can anticipate that and try not to push outward when on gravel and stay upright. I believe the training wheels can't move outward once they are down so they support the bike with a rigid triangle. Pot holes and uneven pavement would be the traps for disaster.

I know that I can no longer pick up my bike alone, if I drop it and hope that someone will be willing to lend a hand should that happen. I still ride when the mission and weather permit. I am also fine with a car or truck in cold or wet weather or when I need to carry something too big for the bike to handle. My time to quit or for training wheels may be closer than I would like to believe, but so far, so good.

I might have said it would feel more like a bike than a trike would. I don't care enough to go back to the court records. I did say some think a side car may be more similar to a traditional bike than trike. Trikes are more common so probably what I would end up with

I would like a trike for gravel. Make an enduro out of it.

Get a 4 wheeler no leaning. Trikes have been off the maket for a few decades. Better yet get a sxs with power stearing. Actually either way at 80 power steering would probably be way to go.

A trike would just be my preference if I can't hold my bike upright any longer. My wife and I rode this one all over the place for a few years back before I had my knee replaced and we had a blast. Yes, now that I can easily ride on 2 wheels, I will continue to do so. But when/if the time comes (again)I'd rather another one of these trikes then some goofy training wheels on my bike. Again, just my preference.

Well I have Two with sidecars, 1 trike and two with two wheels. Each servers a purpose and a different riding experience.

The ones that you saw years ago was called Leg UP. They had issues and just faded away.

It's the "old" thing that kinda struck a nerve is all. There are a bunch more reasons for a trike than age, you know that. For me it is Sarcoidosis. It's either quit riding or trike. Trike was it! Has nothing to do with age. I contracted the disease during my jobs. If it was "snarky" for some, than sorry. Your last statement is truth!

I had a stroke in November, though I'm recovering I had to learn how to walk again. I may need these, thanks for the thread

They'd provide an extra level of assurance as I pull my FLHR backwards over the hump of my 125 year old barn doorway. I have to get a bit of backward momentum up and make sure t's leaning on my hip a little so it doesn't fall away. Other than that, I don't see a need. These bikes are so well mannered at low speed, when are they ever at risk of tipping over?
