Hello all, I am trying to do the passing light/ high beam wiring. I need to know how in the hell to remove the ignition switch indicator plate to remove the switch console or else the silver thing under the actual turn switch.
If you are talking about removing the ignition switch on an EG or RG, you need to be careful bacause you can get the steering lock mechanism outa line and if that happens, you'll have to take it in so a stealer cna fix it.
There is a button on the bottom side of the big chrome switch & you will have to put the key in the cylinder, turn it all the way to the right, and while you press the button on the bottom, you will have to rotate the whole switch to the LEFT past the lock position and it will then pull striaght out.
That;s from memory.... so I hope it's complete & right.
***TURN THE FORKS ALL THE WAY TO THE LEFT AND LEAVE THEM THERE UNTIL YOU PUT THE LOCK ASSY BACK IN PLACE OR YOU WILL HOSE THE STEERING LOCK REFERRED TO ABOVE***
Thank you for all the help. You are right about the steering. I spent about 45 min trying to get all lined back up. For others that might do this, if you take the two screws out of the entire ignition it will re align.
I am far from a mechanic although if anyone wants to do the pass lamp/high beam mod, and need hel, I can help.
