Default How clean is your primary oil?

When I did my $5000 service last week I thought that the primary fluid was overly dirty. I had the 1000 mile service done at the dealer and went with SYN3 fluids. For those who do their own service, how did yours look?

$5000 Service??? WOW!!! You paid way to much (lol)

Did mine before I went on my trip in July... Didn't notice it as being overly dirty??? - Then I use AMSOIL ...

Yes. The fluid will get dark from the Clutch. Especially if your a clutch slipper like an old women....[sm=gears.gif][sm=hiya.gif][sm=helpout.gif][sm=icon_rofl.gif][sm=icon_stickpoke.gif][sm=laughat.gif]

With the 1st gear ratio on the 6-speeds it's hard NOT to be a clutch slipper.

I wish I had the 1st gear from my 1991 5-speed in my '07.

OK so it should have said 5000 mile service. The 1000 mile service was done by a dealer that I trust, who knows for sure. I was just looking for some feedback on what others have seen. This is my first HD so I dont have anything to compare it to.

I just did my 5000 mile service(2007 FLHT), dealer did 1000 mile service. The oil looked darker, or dirtier then the tranny oil.

I use Redline MTL and added a VPC to the clutch on my 07 RG at 500 miles, Changed oil in primary at 5000 and it looked new, like the day I put it in there, will not change primary oil again till I get 10,000 miles on it. I ride two up most of the time and found the 07 clutch would slip a bit on a good launch with everthing adjusted right, so I added the VPC and have had no problems with slip sense. Doc
