So, do Street Glide's have rubbing problems when riding 2-up? I looked at those solow kits, but thet are all for 06 and prior.
Well again we need to address the weight issue (if the rider is 300+ & the passanger is 250+ and they load there saddle bags & tourpak,,, they could... They would start by adjusting the shock pressure of the additional weight and the more air in the shocks the stiffer that shock becomes giving you a harder\firmer ride... Normally 1" reduction in shock height is the most that and shock company would recommend...
Take your bike right now and set your shock pressure at the normal recommended pressures per you owners manual.... Go ride it on some back roads... Now - Increase the shock pressure to 35lbs and ride it again... You'll see what I'm talking about.. More air pressure will limit the shock travel changing the way the bikes rides...........
You should look for the Road King Custom shocks. This bike is the lowest in the touring bunch and are pretty good shocks. You could probably get them pretty cheap on ebay. My bike rides nice and its low to the ground. Just my two cents.
Here is what I would recommend trying...
Keeping your OEM Shocks and get yourself a set of adjustable rear lowering cams (E-Bay) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HARLE...spagenameZWDVW
$100.00 (shipping is free) - These are adjustable -1 1\4" & -2 1\4" and try these to see if this will work for you (making sure the fit data is right for your bike???)... You'll still have your OEM Air Shocks to make the ride comfort adjustments... (this is what I did from the start - and then changed over once I figured out what would work for Solo - 2-up and 2-up loaded)
I like these, easy to bolt on, and easy to take off later if you want, and they say does not reduce tire travel. Somebody said road king custom shocks, they are the same as the SG ones. http://www.speedsupplies.com/accesso....asp?item=2386
