I do not like those spring tensioners period. Unless you plan to check inside regularly, I would go hydraulic.
Also, I am another person who adjusted pushrods to 21 flats or 0.140. No ticking.
Do they do replacement systems for older twin cams that simply bolt on? Or is it a massive mod and you might be better off going with the gear drive from S&S?

You can use the ones in the link you found, OR you can look up Andrews Products and go to Conversion Cams. It will provide you with the Harley part numbers you need to update yours to the newer design. You will have to buy new cams like the 21N or 26N or something else.
I used the 21N and am happy with them, but I always wonder how the 26N would be
