Trying to figure out how to remove the plastic surround from around the ignition switch without destroying it.
(Bike is a 2011 Streetglide)
So far ive removed the torx screws from the sides
Removed the ignition part that the key goes into
It appears to surround the fixed ignition part?
Welcome to the Forum.
Why are you trying to remove it?
I have a 2012 StreetGlide, I've had that "Fairing Cap" off of my bike, to add an auxiliary switch for my Amplifier. I've also had it loose to replace my handlebars.
IIRC, you now need to remove that nut, collar, spacer, and switch position plate.
Removing it to get to the fork tube bolts so I can finish the front Dirty air.
##Thanks guys I got it all disassembled without destroying the cover and just incase I put the ignition back together so the tumblers dont create another fun job.

lol..i dunno...i think see another thread in your near future.
If the tumblers do come unaligned you can use a long flat blade screw driver. Did it countless times on my 04 and my wife’s 13 when replacing the inner fairing and new bars.
yep...i did it with a screw driver 2 times. fumbling around of 30 or more minutes off and on.
$17 dollar part to drop in as soon as the switch is removed is priceless for me.
