Navigation GPS

I just bought a 2026 Road Glide STSE and trying to figure out how the GPS works. The 256 page user manual is completely worthless. Only 3 pages skim over the GPS and that doesn't even begin to cover all the different functions. For example: How to call up the keyboard and type in an address? How to set your home address as home or a favorite? How to create and save a route? Where is the USB port for importing routes it mentions? What software do you use to create routes for importing? Not impressed.

The USB port is in the R/H door on the fairing. Ride Planner is the program for planning rides, Go to Harley-Davidson.com, go to Discover H-D, and open Ride Planner. Here is a planned ride for you to look at: https://maps.harley-davidson.com/share/rides/XTA-bkq3b

Check with your dealer, since many dealers (mine does) hold "seminars" on how to operate the various nav radios. OR, as others have suggested use your phone or tablet as you sit on your (battery tendered) HD and check out YouTube's tons of instructional videos. Some are produced great while others not so much. But you'll find numerous videos on every feature of the radio. (the manual is cumbersome...videos are the way to go)

(btw.....DON"T try messing around with the radio while riding...better to do in the comfort of your garage)

I gave up on the HD Nav system and use carplay with either Waze or Rever depending on where I'm riding.

That's the reason I walked away from buying a new bike. Too much technology for me. When I got my 2019 Ultra it was all there just turn it on.

I do all that on the HD app and send it to the bike. Works great!

So you do not travel to places where there is no data available?

And the Garmin motorcycle GPS, as well as other models, come with lifetime map updates. For me, that means about 8 years from the GPS model was first introduced. So about every 8 years I get a new, updated, Garmin GPS.
