I don't think it's that bad. Not my style but at least they aren't just trying to copy Harley. I get sick of all the companies that are just trying to out Harley Harley. Basically you have the BMW's the GoldWings and a bunch of Harley wannabees. I would get the Vision before a Road Star or other clone. At least people don't look at you and think, there goes some guy who really wanted a Harley but couldn't afford one.
for every one person that has a problem with their HD touring bike I will show you 500 that don't have problems at all. Sometime I think people are hypochondriacs *sp* when it comes to their bikes.
My 07 is on the money, only 2000 miles so far but its very solid.
The mammoth front profile and cyclops headlight suck the style right out of this bike. No thanks. Looks better without wheels, however.Polaris should have turned the design over to their jet ski group.
Not a huge fan of the victory myself. As far as having issues with the new HD's, I have an 07'RKCustom that I have put on 9558 miles in 7 months. I havent had a single issue. It's done everythin Ive wanted it to do. It shakes, makes alot of noise, cruises beautifully, and most importantly it was assembled by americans.
I've read some of the posts regarding the 07/08 touring bikes. I have an 07 Ultra and I love it. This is my 3rd Harley. I've had the EVO, the Twin 88, and now the 96. The reality is that H-D are air cooled big twin engines. By there nature they are going to run hot!. Either understand this and accept it or don't buy one. The EVO (Road King) ran hot. My 02 Ultra (twin cam 88) ran a little hotter. My 07 Ultra runs a little hotter then all of them but not by a huge amount. When I'm rolling it feels fine. When I'm stuck in traffic it's hot, but any bike feels hot in traffic.
Others also complain about havng to shift more often because of the 6 speed. It's a 6 speed, you should shift more.
I don't know about the whinning isse, my runs quiet.
Bottom line - almost all vehicles (cars, boats, motorcycles) could be better. Seems like there is always something that needs to be changed to make it perfect. Again accept it or buy something else.
Hi all,
Thats wrong I rode the same speed in 5th on my 05 soft tail 06 RKC and the 07 Sg.6 speed means means you can go 12 MPH faster for the same RPM. My buddy has a 05 Victory and it's ugly too and I think he regrets buying it. Me I like a couple of the sporty Victory's but would I go from the 07 SG to one, duh.
LikeI posted earlier, it is too lacking in bag space for me to even consider. Plus I am not a fan of it's looks. My buddy has one and I've ridden it and from the saddle it does very well for itself, no compaints.
