Knock noise over bumps
Has anyone experienced a knock type noise in the front end over a sharp bump. Sounds like it's in the fairing or lower triple tree area. 2007 Ultra Classic.

Might be your gas cap rattling, next time you go over some bumps put your hand on the gas cap and apply a little pressure while, mine rattles quite a bit and I'm looking to change it soon as there is no means of adjustment that I've seen. If it is truly a 'knock' as you say it could be anything from an improperly tied down connector under the fairing to a cracked fairing bracket.

I know the knock/thunck soundyour talking about , mine does it too when I hit a bad bump. Had the same knock/thunck soundin the front endon my Honda VTX before I installed Progessive springs in the forks.I just presume it is the front end bottoming out because it only does over a hard bump.

I have heard the same.I thought it might be the kick stand rattlingwhen you hit the bumps. I don't know?

I got the same thing on my 07SG, had it back to dealer 2 times now, they cant find anything, I read here or another forum that this noise is "normal", I read in a mag that there is a thingy at bottom, inside of forks which loosens, I'm gonna see if my dealer checked it......... I mad sure the dealer listed it and if anything breaks or wears it is warr...........................I hate the sound.

I was told it could be in the forks according to the dealer... My EGlide has the same thing... I need to schedule an appt. but you know the only open days are saturdays and my damned stereo controls broke.... yeah that vaunted HD fit and finish!!!
