I am new to this site and hoping someone can help. I have a stock 2003 Road King TC88 and am looking to replace the engine with an Ultima 127ci. Does anyone know of any potential problems I may encounter? My Road King is injected and the replacement will be carburated.
The Ultima is a Evo based motor only. You have a twin cam. We have done many Ultima motors. we have had some problems in the begining but that is to be expected with a new company. Their factory backing is good. Good components. You are going to have to address the trans problem.

I had the 127 in my chopper and loved the engine. It wants to be ridden and ridden hard.
Sounds like a good project ahead of you. Post some pics of the progress.
Good Luck

Engine mounting maybe a problem.....I don't know if it is the same between the motors with a rubber mount. Solid mount is different and requires adaptor to mount a TC to EVO Frame.....not sure about the other way around. Why not get one of the big inch TC motors from JIMS?

As stated in my last post and Yardstick is correct. You will have to get a whole inner/outer primary, or a drive like belt drive (FXR Belt Drive will fit, just fab floor board bracket, we did it a few month back) & FXR/FL (Evo.) trans to make this to work. I do not blieve anyone makes any kind of adapter to link an Evo motor to a twin cam trans, however, without checking the clearance this may be possible but not for sure.
