What is a Isolated Drive System and What does it do?
Why be upset? Do you think the '08 buyers are getting it free? Why should you/we? The '08 owners are merely purchasing it pre-installed. Would you have been upset if the cost of the bike were an extra $150 at the time you bought it? I wonder how many people would have opted out of a $150 "cush drive" option were it available on the '07s.
Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm BUYING the IDS setup, because I'm forced... I don't like riding my Harley-Davidson like a sport bike... Most of my riding is local, or commuting to work and back...
As far as calling it cush drive, I don't agree, it's something that was needed for the stroker motor..

Furthermore, I'm not defending them. At least not beyond them being a company that reserves the right to change things/specifications at any time without incurring obligation.
My RKC makes noise and it vibrates. It vibrates a little too much and that will be addressed at a time convenient for me. The noises I don't care about. They're simply a manifestation of a production-line machine while in operation. If I ever do get to caring about them I'll install an IDS. I have no reason to believe the noises are any evidence of future mechanical problems. Even if they would be, the IDS will shift them far, far into the future.
I don't want to ride it like a sport bike either, so I don't.

Amen to that!
Just got my bike back after IDS install and all I can say is that it was worth it!
