I asssume by reading other posts that the following changes are true...
6 gal tank
IDS Drive
Seat
Electroic throttle
Brakes
Wind deflectors
How about any engine or tranny mods?
??different cams
??larger throttle body
50mm throttle body and the induction module is different. I found this out when I tried putting a Big Sucker on it and found out I had to go with the new 08 SE air cleaner kit. The ECM has changed also and is now located under the seat.
I did not know about the throttle body changes etc.. the catoluge spec shows a jump from 45 mpg to 54 mpg. I thought that the primary gearing might have changed to get that increase as the tranny ratio's have stayed the same. What are you guys getting for mileage on the 08's?
Cant really tell yet, only have 400 miles on it so far. Seems to suck fuel though, dont have a # to back it up. Oh another change for the list, the PBR Belt Buckle tank emblem had been reduced in size. (or maybe its just the larger tank that makes it look smaller
I believe the ECM went under the seat due to the new ABS. I wonder if a non ABS bike will still have the ECM located in the old position?
I have a 08 non ABS on order but if they are going to be hard to modify I may cancel. I ordered it before they published the throttle by wire so waiting to see what becomes available. I mainly just want to do a filter/slipon/program on it and let it flow a little better.
Dont forget the Fly-by-wire throttle, and the adjustable little wind wings. Would the throttle body increase make them sound better? Different exhaust? Mine sounds great, cant wait to hear it after a few thousand more miles!
diff between the 07 and 08,,, hmmmmm let me think,,,
