Default 01 flhtcui ECM

Say All, Got this 01 Ultra that continues to let the idle creep down over time and won't fast idle at cold start ups all the time. All started after I had the stage one map installed but I don't think that has anything to do with the slipping idle. Dealer has to power down the ECM to wipe the memory and then reinstall the stage one map and adjust the idle to the 1K rpm. Things are good for a few months then the idle starts to drift downward again. Anyone else have this experience and have an idea what the problem might be?

there's an adjustment screw just behind the air cleaner face plate. I'm not sure if this is actually an idle adjustment but the carb throttle hits against it (I have a 05 RK EFI) I put locktite on mine to keep it from moving. That's one possibility.

PROCEDURE FOR HOT/COLD IDLE ADJUST ON MM EFI'S
ENGINE MUST BE UP TO NORMAL OPERATING TEMP TO DO THIS PROCEDURE
1. Remove right saddlebag, right side cover and air cleaner assembly.
MAKE SURE ENGINE IS UP TO NORMAL OPERATING TEMP.
2. Adjust the hot idle screw until the hot idle is between 950 and 1050 rpm.
3. Unplug the harness/connector that is on top of the idle speed control actuator. your engine now think's it's cold and the rpm should rise.
4. Adjust the cold idle screw until the rpm is at 1500.
5. Plug the connector back in. Idle should lower back to 950 to 1050.
6. Turn the iginition switch to the off position.
7. Remove the EFI fuse holder cover. This is on the right side of the bike located where you removed the right side cover.
8. Remove the 5 and 15 amp fuses.
9. Leave the fuses out for at least 30 minutes.
10. replace the fuses, fuse cover, right side cover, right saddlebag and air cleaner assembly.
Start the bike up. The ECM should now remember the new hot and cold idle settings.
This should correct your "wondering idles" if there is nothing else wrong in the system.

Thanks Bujin. I think I may have tried adjusting that screw you mention but it made no difference. I seems to adjust on a plate that appears to be actuated by the ECM. I also have a different EFI than your 05.

Thanks tfdeputydawg I'll give that proceedure a go. Think that is just what the dealer does. I just didn't know the whole sequence of steps.
