Default Seat recommendations?

Yeah, I know, there are a million threads on seats but to hell with it, Im asking anyway. I ride an 07 FLHT and Im a big guy, 6'2 at 280 (damn) pounds. I rarely ride with a passenger so I dont carehow small the passenger seat is, the smaller and lower for them the better in fact. I couldnt use the stock seat at all as it jammed me right up on the tank, not to mention the helo landing pad sized passenger seat. That seat was obviously designed for couples. I switched to a Badlander seat. It looks great but its only 12.5 inches wide and is just like sitting on a board. Im good for 100 miles max before *** agony sets in. A few weeks back I did a fly/ride in Hawaii on a new Road King and loved that seat (15.5 inches wide), no butt pain at all, it looked nice toobut in order to put one on my bike I either have to switch consoles or add that ugly little piece of leather to cover the gap at the bottom of the tank.I may end up doing it anyway but was looking for suggestions for something similar, around $300 or so max. Suggestions appreciated.

Aftermarket offers a nice chrome piece so you can put the Road King seat on your bike.
Might find em on Ebay or in Drag Specialities
Best seat made is the Mustang. Will also find em on Ebay. bout $335 or so!!
Try looking at Mustangs web sightto get correct application and best info.

Yeah, Ive seen those Mustang seats in my J&P catalog. I was noticing the factory Road Glide seat looks like it will fit an FLHT without that tank extension. Anybody "king size" who has a road glide got any comments on the factory seat? It sure looks better that the one that comes on the FLHT.

You might try and have the seat modified. Allen (Badx) is a forum member and owns www.meancitycycles.com . He can modify your seat and make it more comfortable, at a fraction of the cost of a new seat. IMO.

HD Road Zeppelin is really wide and works well for those who are a bit taller than others. it's adjustable on the road. i'm currently on a 3000 miler, and the seat really makes it enjoyable on the long stretches. No more *** aches.

I am bidding on a Corbin Dual Tour seat for my Ultra. The original stock seat which is now almost 10 years old with 55,000 miles is worn out....so any upgraded seat must be better than OEM. The stock seat creates bad hot spots and kills my back in short order. This Corbin seat will not match the tour pack back rest....but I don't really care, because I simply want comfortable. I am too old to be concerned with "looks only."

I've had great results with Mustang....but the price of this Corbin seat is very affordable.

I was just on the Mustang site and found out they make a solo seat that is 17" wide for $259. Anybody out there have one of those on a newerElectra Glide?

i just bought an as-new Sundowner for $185 for my RK. i put about 300 miles on it on Sunday and can honestly say that its very comfortable.

i dont know if one has to do with the other- but before the Sundowner, i would get pain btwn my shoulders after a good ride (i blamed the handle bars) now? no pain at all.... perhaps it was a seating position change or something else- but the seat is great and the price was as well.
