Looking to replace stock whips with shorter antenna on my 08 Ultra. Have been on Antenna X on Ebay and looks like some good option with proven results.
Are these truly plug and play, twist off and on or do they require rewiring.
Hell, I can do some home plumbing and change a buld but damn when it comes to circuits and wiring, better left to the professionals.
look at jmcorp.com they have nice replacements. they are plug and play. twist off old after removing set screw and then put new ones on. i have them on my bike. a little more than than the antennas on e bay. but i think they look better. also jmjohn is a sponser here..
Ditto on the J&M Corp replacement antennas. I have them on my '06 Ultra and they bring across excellent results on both reception and transmission.Several folks in our riding group were so impressed that they are in the process of ordering them as well. Good luck!
A riding buddy of mine simply loosened the set screw on the stock antennas, removed each one, cut them in half and stuck the top part back in and said they still work fine! anyone else tried this? i've asked around at my local hd shop and many feel this is entirely ok?

Probably ok for the radio antenna. Not ok for the CB antenna. Cutting part of the CB antenna off will mess up the standing wave and cause it to not work correctly.
