Can't get the adjustable, no where to mont the adjustment lever I have an 08'. Looks like I am going to do the bend unless someone else has a better option.
I had the same issue with the rider backrest. Was going to make major modifications (bend) to mine but read a post on this forum about shimming the bracket and adding washers to the 2 piece metal strap that connects the backrest bracket to the battery box.Works perfectly now as a matter of fact I may have to take a little of the adjustment out of it because it is too far back.
Remember you only need to make a couple/few degrees adjustment to the base bracket and the backrest moves back a significant distance. Jusy my .02.
How do you shim the bracket, I would like to try this but not sure I understand. I can visualize the bracket and the 2 washers but not sure on the shimming.
Would like to see some pics of your set up. I tried shimming it and adjusting it and it still hits me wrong. I tried bending it with what I had at home to use butwasn't able to phase them. I like using a backrest and would love to get this one right.
